Attention to details and creating luxurious experience is imperative, all our Guests need to feel as though the Mayia Resort is a home away from home, or even better, a dream home away from home!
The reception hall of this hotel is very impressive and absolutely breathtaking. We were greeted with a cool towel and champagne whilst filling out the hotel formalities. From day one we were able to take in the beauty of this brand new hotel. Our room was spacious and very comfortable from all points of view. The hotel is facing the sea therefore every room has a sea view. We had absolutely no problems with hotel itself, but soon realised there was a serious lack of trained personnel.
In view of the 3 month late opening, I think the management probably had a great deal of trouble in recruiting experienced personnel so late in the season. We found various areas where the service was sadly lacking, but certainly not enough to spoil our holiday. The food was varied and enough choice for all our requirements. The Asian and Italian restaurants were excellent as was the poolside restaurant, which served an excellent Moussaka and seafood. There were plenty of sunbeds and space around the huge swimming pool. There were always plenty available after breakfast so it's not necessary to get up at hrs and rush down to the pool to 'reserve' a spot.

Reserving the sunbeds is of course forbidden, but no-one seems to take any notice of the hotel rules and people still rush down to put their towels on to their favourite spots!! Next full season may show this to be an ongoing problem, as with all hotels. The smaller pool was the 'fitness' area for water polo and aquaerobics.
All surrounding areas were spotlessly clean and peace prevailed throughout the warm sunny days. I cannot recommend highly enough this hotel, despite it's somewhat shakey beginning, and all the young personnel who went out of their way to help and serve everyone to the best of their ability, working extremely long hours into the bargain.
I also have to mention the lack of respecting the dress code for the evening meal. A dress code is mentioned in the hotel rules, of which many people seem to ignore completely. A hotel of this luxurious standing should be respected, not only for it's reputation, but for respect to the management and other residents who are dressed in an appropriate manner.
In my personal view, beachwear, shorts and flip flops do not fit in with the standing of this hotel. Mr Stefanos Karasiotos the Operations Manager is well aware of the problems with personnel and will have now have the time to rethink about recruitment for the next full season. I would like to thank all the personnel for their unending help and service with a smile, under somewhat difficult circumstances.
The Plus Factor
Mr Karasiotos you have a real gem and you are to be congratulated on your efforts to make this the best hotel in Rhodes. We are pleased that you enjoyed your spacious and well-equipped room, that has been designed to offer a comfortable stay with all the facilities you may expect. We highly appreciate your wonderful words that you found our hotel very impressive and absolutely breathtaking. Our goal is to provide welcoming accommodation with attention to craft and detail and we are disappointed that we fell short during your stay. We value your feedback and will work diligently to ensure we are more consistent in our delivery.
We have taken note of the issues you outlined and will be working with our team to improve these areas. It has been always our endeavor to pursue the interest of our guests to the best possible standards. We would like to assure you that dress code applies for the evening meal and all the points you raised have been addressed and taken on board by Management.
Please allow us to reassure you that we invest heavily in training our staff members to provide first class customer care to make sure that our guests live us feeling that they have received exceptional service. We only hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future, when we promise to go above and beyond in our efforts of delivering you with amazing experience. Unfortunately the Hotel has got a Large Generator out the back near rooms , i would suggest you make sure you don't go in those rooms or any that are near, during the night you can hear the Generator and it has times when it sounds as if you are at a Motor Cross Event.
The organisation of everything is Far from Five Star though, came down for Breakfast, no tables cleared but Staff running about doing things that could wait, the best of this situation is the supposed Boss was stood there directing Staff but in my opinion he was Directing them in the wrong Direction, he didn't get stuck in either, also waiting for food because Staff were in the Kitchen was quite bad, i saw one lady waiting to be served for about 10 minutes, all the other food on her Plate was going cold.
When you go for Food you will get your Water quite quickly, but you will wait minutes in every Restaurant for your Wine or Beer, one night we ordered 2 Glasses of Wine from the Head Waiter and ended up leaving without it after waiting so long and got sick of asking which is appalling when you have paid the amount they ask for the Holiday and it isn't because the Restaurants are busy either, i had to ask times on more than one occasion. There are 3 A La Carte Restaurants, the Asian is great, good variety, the Greek is very good, i thought the Italian was very limited choice and to run out of things early in the evening isn't a good sign.
They have a row of shops where you can go and have a Gyro or a Sandwich, the 2 lads there are really nice, but again unfortunately no one is overseeing things and making adjustments, my Wife and i went there one day and had a Gyro each, we waited over an hour and there was only 1 couple in front of us, the Staff cook per order, if it has to be cooked then you are in for a long wait, nothing is cooking being prepared for the next order and they only do 1 kind of Hot Food a day, the Sandwich shop next door is the same, ordered 2 Wraps and waited almost half an hour with no one else there.
We only went to the Beach once, there are no drinks or snacks down there and it is quite a hike to go and get drinks to take back to your lounger, there is a wooden hut that could be put to good use down there but i think this is another thing that gets over looked too. Please don't waste this Beautiful Hotel, sort it soon and even i would go back. It makes us really happy to know that the Staff was very polite and helpful. Our Staff is passionate about providing a tailored, enriching experience for each guest, and we are thrilled to know they were a significant part in making your stay memorable.
On the other side we are sorry to read that your stay was not as enjoyable as expected. We want to thank you to bringing your concerns and suggestions as we always looking for the ways to better our service and your feedback is an invaluable part of that process.
We always suggest to our guests share concerns with Management whilst in the hotel in order to immediately resolve the issue. Rest assured that all the points you raised have been addressed to the relevant Departments and have been taken into serious consideration in order to avoid similar causes in the future.
The Plus Factor | Well+Good
We would love to welcome you back for the opportunity to show you our improvements and prove ourselves five star worthy. My favourite thing about the Mayia resort was the Haribo that is provided in the mini bar in the bedrooms. Even on the days I didn't eat the Haribo provided I would store it up in my suitcase to take home hehe my only complaint really is that the mini bar only included one bag of Haribo each day. My partner didnt get to see any of the Haribo because I either ate it or stored it in my suitcase hehe! My favourite restaurant was the Asian and I think I made a friend for life in the waiter Deano what a great guy!
We are so proud that you highlighted the outstanding service, provided by our dedicated team. Service is of the utmost importance to us and we are thrilled to hear that everyone you encountered was engaged and knowledgeable, providing everything you needed to enjoy your stay in Mayia Resort. Your kind words are the reason why we enjoy our work even more than ever and we will pass your lovely words to all the staff! Whilst we were pleased to learn that you loved your break and enjoyed your stay we were disappointed your concerns regarding food experience.
However, we greatly appreciate your good comments regarding the Asian and Italian Restaurant. Looking forward to join us again soon! The vacation was a dreamy. The hotel is all-inclusive and offers plenty in every possible parameter.
At dinner they have the main dining room and three other restaurants- Greek, Italian and Asian that requires a reservation - please note that before the vacation, you should contact the hotel to reserve one of the restaurants we didn't know about it and all the restaurants was fully booked. At lunchtime there is the main dining room, snack bar on the pool and there are three more street food stores- I highly recommend the street food, it was excellent.
A dessert store open until 2 am - at the street food area. The mini bar is free and fills once a day. Breakfast is served in the main dining room and it is great -I would prefer breakfast to be served until 11 am but it served until 10 am, for those who want, you can order breakfast to the room but it is accompanied by a cost of 15 EUR for room service. Also, alcoholic beverages and cocktails are included and they are in a very high standard, they produce almost all types of alcohol for free and not just cheap alcohols.
Patriotism with a plus factor
The hotel is about an hour and a half away from the airport and a taxi cost about 86 euros and therefore it is better to rent a car - since the cost of renting a car is lower than the taxi costs in both directions the hotel offers free parking , and you can also travel with the vehicle in Rhodes. In conclusion, the hotel is of a very high standard and is highly recommended - do not think twice. The hotel facilities are of a very high standard and the design of the hotel is modern and luxurious- you will not have to spend an extra dollar in the hotel.
Dear Cruiser, Thank you for taking the time and sharing your feedback with us! We are so proud you found our hotel facilities on a very high standard as well as the design of the Resort is modern and luxurious.
